Ecommerce & Shopify App Developer Job Overview

ONELIVE is currently seeking a mid-to-senior level ecommerce and Shopify app developer and engineer. This person, under guidance of our Head of Ecommerce Development, will be responsible for the build and management of ecommerce app projects, frequent daily code deployments, and build and maintenance of Shopify and BigCommerce ecommerce websites -- all at scale across many storefronts (our production scale is much larger than most agencies).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Shopify applications using best practices and leading technologies.
• Collaborate with a cross functional team of developers, designers and project managers to build custom Shopify solutions though backend app development. (Purpose is to expand Shopify capability beyond what is out of the box.)
• Ensure cross-platform optimization on all devices.
• Assist Web Development team with store builds and updates as needed.
• Work with Digital Strategists to facilitate website and app-related optimizations.

Requirements

• 4+ years backend development (preferably in an agency environment).
• Experience using technologies and frameworks like (but not limited to):
  • React Remix
  • Javascript
  • GraphQL
  • Node.js
  • Hydrogen
  • Oxygen
  • Postgres Database & database modeling
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • Tailwind
  • Liquid
• Understanding of the full Shopify ecosystem, including but not limited to the Shopify API’s, as well as theme and template development.
• Strong liquid syntax capabilities and understanding of how Shopify works "under the hood."
• Familiarity with full stack frameworks such as gadget.dev
• Experience with working in a cross-discipline environment with designers and other engineers to produce and vet ideas through prototyping early concepts.
• Experience working with multiple Github repositories, workflows and actions in a team setting.
• Experience with Shopify & Bigcommerce headless frameworks
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• A solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions.
• Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
