Director of Fan Engagement Job Overview

ONELIVE is currently seeking a mid to senior-level Director of Fan Engagement with deep expertise in marketing, strategy, and campaign management. This person, under the direction of the CRO, would be responsible for leading, managing, and collaboratively executing all aspects related to the growth, retention, and monetization of customer/fan engagement programs for the company and its clients.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this Director of Fan Engagement role, this person must be able to perform the following functions with a high level of proficiency.

  • Marketing Strategies - Creating and evaluating marketing strategies based on market characteristics, company objectives, multi-channel availability, and cost factors
  • Campaigns - Planning and overseeing customer and fan-driven campaigns across multiple channels, including website, ecommerce store, social media, streaming platforms, and live events
  • Data & Reporting - Analyzing data to evaluate the success of marketing/fan engagement efforts, reporting on performance and identifying areas for improvement
  • Teams - Recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating marketing and fan club teams (staff, contractors, or partners), as well as overseeing their daily activities
  • Research - Initiating market research studies and analyzing the findings to understand fan/customer and market trends/opportunities
  • Pricing - Working with CRO to refine pricing strategies that balance customer needs and company objectives
  • Technology - Collaborating with technology, artist services, and ecommerce departmental leads to inform the direction of proprietary software development, as well as adjacent partner technologies related to customer and fan engagement
  • Subject Ownership - Establish and maintain ownership of the company’s complete fan engagement model, including vision, strategies, technologies, teams, and campaigns.

Requirements

The following traits and skills are required for this Director of Fan Engagement role.

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related business field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of marketing. This should include familiarity with both the operational, analytical, and creative sides of marketing.
  • A thorough understanding of market developments, marketing strategies, budgeting, forecasting, and marketing best practices.
  • Proven history of successful marketing campaign execution, including targeting, planning, budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Proven history of either directly managing or collaboratively influencing proprietary technology solutions (apps, platforms, or other products), as well as 3rd party technology partnerships, for improved outcomes in customer/fan experience and monetization.
  • Comfort and proficiency with public speaking, internal/client-facing presentations, and employee/departmental training.
  • Proficiency with relevant software:
    • Ecommerce software (Shopify and/or BigCommerce)
    • CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
    • Marketing software (Klaviyo, Mail Chimp, etc.)
    • Analytics software (Google Analytics, Looker, Optimizely, Triple Whale, etc.)
  • Proficiency with administrative and office tools:
    • Google Suite (Gmail, Google Meet, Google Calendar, etc.)
    • Presentation software (PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.)
